Tilt or tap? Getting racing controls right
Every mobile racer eventually asks the same question: do you steer by tilting the phone or by tapping the screen? The answer changes everything about how the game feels.
Tilt controls, when done well, are immersive. Neon Drift Rush nails this — leaning into a corner feels physical. But they demand a stable grip, so they're useless if you're lying down or on a bumpy bus.
Tap steering is more forgiving and works anywhere, but it can feel detached during fast drifts. My advice is to try both in the first few races before you commit to a play style.
Whichever you pick, spend time in the settings. Adjusting sensitivity is the single biggest improvement most people never bother making.
