About
PocketPlay Review started as a group chat where a few friends kept arguing about which game to install next. At some point we figured the notes we were passing around might be useful to other people, so we turned them into a proper site. Nothing corporate about it — we just really like handheld games.
Every title gets played on real phones, not emulators, for at least several sessions before we write a word. We care about how a game feels during a bus ride or a lunch break, not just how it looks in a trailer. Battery drain, loading times, whether the controls fight your thumbs — that stuff matters.
We pick games across every genre we can get our hands on. Some come from suggestions in our inbox, some we stumble on in the store charts, and a few are recommendations from readers we trust. We're not tied to any studio, so if something disappoints us we say so plainly.
The goal is simple: help you spend your download and your evening on something worth it.
